Overview of the Dell OptiPlex computer

Dell Business-Class OptiPlex

The Dell Business-Class OptiPlex(tm) computer is the premier work horse computer for medium and large businesses and schools. The OptiPlex is also popular with computer enthusiast and computer technicians.

The OptiPlex computer is sold to businesses all over the world and to to individuals as well. When upgrading or replacing their computers, many businesses will resell their OptiPlex computers to a hungry market for good used computers. Dell also sells it used/refurbished OptiPlex and other computers at its outlet web site.

Due to its popularity, there is a large secondary market for the OptiPlex including parts like motherboards.

The OptiPlex computer has a proprietary motherboard along with the power supply which make the OptiPlex impossible to upgrade with standard form factor motherboards.
